Chemical sensing
The mid-infrared (2-12 micron) is the fingerprint region for all molecular species. The development of mid-infrared fiber-optic lasers and broadband sources enable the development of chemical sensors for molecular spectroscopy, chemical process monitoring, and remote detection of chemical and biological agents.
